Review of Requiem for a Dream (2000) by Joe H — 19 Dec 2013
One of the most emotionally devastating films I have ever seen. Aronofsky is able to paint a beak picture with characters that are not too unlike ourselves. They have the same romantic dreams of the future, the same hopes and fears, the same regrets, and the same weaknesses.
So when their fall into drug addiction destroys their lives, Aronofsky allows us to feel their pain. And oh boy does it hurt.
