Review of Requiem for a Dream (2000) by Jerome P — 28 Jan 2014
Raunchy, crunchy and grimy. Aronofsky was going to lose me early, but he thankfully cranked the story forward with unexpected moves, and a headlong dive into the pool. He broke out the entire filmmaker toolbox for this one, and I found that it worked.
And, hey, look at you Marlon Wayans, playing high, but not a doofus....who knew it could be done.
