This movie is by far the most disturbing yet realistic outlook at how drug users become completely dislocated from themselves. The acting is outstanding (especially Burstyn and Connelly). Burstyn was robbed of the Academy Award for her performance in this movie.
Ellen Burstyn's portrayal of "Sara" devastated me long after the movie was over. Simply amazing....
