Review of Repulsion (1965) by Richard T — 14 May 2009
Polanski is no stranger to specific detail and doesn't skip a single thing while depicting Catherine Deneuve's rapidly decreasing sanity. Claustrophobia, sexual repression, social anxiety, and male hatred are all carefully constructed to bring about mental destruction.
It's so carefully put together in fact it's almost creepy.
