Review of Repulsion (1965) by Jack D — 15 Mar 2010
The first of Polanski's apartment-themed horror trilogy, REPULSION is a freaky, surrealist trip featuring one of the most visceral stabbing scenes put to film, giving Hitchcock's PSYCHO a run for its money.
Catherine Deneuve plays crazy to perfection, my only complaint is that her character is too impenetrable to truly invest yourself in, but what she goes through is interesting enough to where it doesn't really matter at the end of the day.
