Review of Repulsion (1965) by Robert H — 28 Dec 2010
For better Polanski fare, try Rosemary's Baby. Instead of an endlessly compelling script and an underlying sense of doubt, Repulsion reeks of in-your-face thematics. Girl goes crazy and bad things happen as a result.
No intrigue, no mystery, just a hope that you'll care to see Carol's insanity unfold in the usual manner. Lurid, tepid, and overall just plain dull.
