Review of Reprise (2006) by Jason R — 26 Jun 2008
Ignoring any bias I might have towards movies about conspicuously successful twenty-something intellectuals that also look like underwear models (or, in the case of Viktoria Winge, a pretty Bjork), I was a little underwhelmed by this.
The formal pyrotechnics seem like a cover for navel-gazing, though a number of nice moments (a young author finding a place on the shelf for his first book; a dull bourgeois party hi-jacked by Le Tigre) carry the film along well enough.
Still, a handful of parts are greater than the whole, and the whole pales in comparison to a film like Akin's "Head-On.".
