Review of Reprise (2006) by Jake L — 09 Jul 2008
This was one of the longest one hour and 45 minutes of my life. It seems like there are good ideas here, but I never really connected to anything or anybody that was going on. I normally do not have anything against nonlinear storytelling, but this jumped around so much that it was hard to follow and lost me quickly.
I'm rating this the same as I did the new Incredible Hulk movie, which was a disappointment because it didn't have enough character, preferring action instead. This has the opposite problem; I was never expecting an action movie from it, but it has so much character stuff organized so lazily that it's impossible to follow.
The cast capably performed the material, but there were no particular standouts, which added to the general feeling of blandness in the movie. I sat through iall of t, but I think I would have been better off sneaking into see The Visitor again down the hall.
