Review of Repo! The Genetic Opera (2008) by Sean P — 04 Sep 2010
The story isn't so bad, It's the music. Some of the tunes have some excellent parts and others made me want to grind my teeth. I know it was a rock opera, but there were scenes where the writing could have been better and simple dialogue could have been given instead of trying to sing through it.
Paul Sorvino can really sing, but I felt his voice was a mis match when paired with Sarah Brightman and others. I really liked the sets and the futuristic feel of this flm, and there is definitely a passionate filmmaker behind all of it.
In the end, I just felt like it was a disturbing movie.
