Review of Repo! The Genetic Opera (2008) by Chok S — 24 Sep 2010
I wanted to like Repo from the moment I heard it's plot and music ideals. But save for the Repoman costume, Pavi's face quirk, and the songs sung by the Graverobber, I was left unimpressed, annoyed, and yearning for what I thought I was promised.
It was a great idea, now if only they had made a true, thought-out Opera based on said idea instead of a slight homage too it. Acting was bland, camara technics were hardly uesed at all, and the music does not know what genre it is, and at times is enjoyable, but over irritating with symplistic lyrics.
I really wanted to love Repo, and that makes the end result all the more painful.
