Review of Repo! The Genetic Opera (2008) by Dean H — 27 Oct 2010
Yes, it's a "rock opera", but not quite Rocky Horror. This movie is set in the not-too-distant future where organ failures are common. A company (GeneCo.) has lobbied a bill through congress to make organ financing legal.
Only problem is that when you default on your payment, they send the Repo Man after you. This movie is filled with industrial/gothic/rock/opera music and has very few lines of actual dialog. What drew me to this movie is the fact that Pavi Largo (the guy with the skin mask) is played by none other than Skinny Puppy frontman Nivek Ogre.
Upon watching, I found Luigi Largo is played by Bill Mosley (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, Devils' Rejects), and Amber Sweet played by Paris Hilton who actually put on a great performance in this movie.
Filled with great music and plenty of gore. This is a must-see for this Halloween.
