Review of Repo! The Genetic Opera (2008) by Tim W — 07 Feb 2013
This is a very peculiar film to review. The visual style is very unique and stylish, somewhat resembling the style of Ridley Scott's Blade Runner. The film also has good songs and bad songs, sadly there are a few songs which brings the whole atmosphere of the movie to a stand still.
Anthony Stewart-Head is also proves that he is a worthy singer, especially in the song "Legal Assassin". Overall however, though the visual style maybe striking and effective some acting does bring this movie down. In conclusion all I can really say is that this movie is a typical marmite film.
