Review of Repo Men (2010) by Brian H — 30 Jul 2012
This movie seemed to want to be two different movies in one. The beginning half was decent, a futuristic drama that involves corporate inhumanity manifested as individuals gutting people and reclaiming their artificial organs when they miss their payments. Jude Law and Forrest Whitaker have a dynamic relationship that is both entertaining as well as tense.
The movie really starts to unravel when Jude Law gets kicked out of his home by his wife and suddenly (and without any real reason) falls in love with another woman. Equipped with an artificial heart of his own at this time, the duo flees from The Union and eventually stick it to "The Man" but cutting themselves open. The ending was just a ridiculous ball of ridiculousness.
