Review of Repo Men (2010) by Gabriel A — 21 Feb 2017
Plot: Somewhere in the near future a company loans artificial organs to the public, with interest. If they can't make their payments? The company will repossess the product with one of it's dedicated and enthusiastic staff members.
My Review: A fantastically built near future setting (minus the cars which look older than the release date) with an equally brilliant plot, script and cast. The execution of this movie only lacks in sound critiques by its audience.
This movie is a breath of fresh air, maybe not in complete originality of the plot's skeleton, but certainly in its meaty insides. Flush with quotable one-liners, realistic presentation of the actual "repossession" jobs, compelling and believable acting by both of it's main stars and an overall adeptness in hitting the mood between horror style gore and dark comedy. A completely original take on the presentation of graphic violence and melancholy unparalleled since the titan that is Pulp Fiction. The soundtrack alone is worth watching this movie.
