Review of Repo Man (1984) by Matt H — 23 Feb 2009
It's one of my favorite movies ever for the simple reason that there is no discernable plot amidst the bizarre sci-fi/post-apocalyptic overtones or the (realistic) punk rock characters/soundtrack, but once it's over you've been told an immersive, indescribable story filled with good characters portrayed by excellent actors and you were never bored.
Just pay attention to the details, they won't make the movie make more sense, but they fuse the characters to their actions and in some cases are just plain weird/awesome/funny/scary. In other words, it breaks the rules that never should have been rules in the first place.
I can't recommend it enough.
