Alex Cox's name will forever be connected to this one movie. 1984, man. Emilio Estevez cruising around town, playing a young and upcoming repo man with some dangerous loads in the back of that one particular Chevy he should've never gotten his hands on in the first place.
Hilarious moments en masse - the smoking cop boots stick out. The soundtrack is cult, the lines are cult, the style is cult (the generic food and drink labels are worth it alone). A movie that captured the feel, spirit and energy of the youth back in the early Eighties and used L.
A. as a classy backdrop for a absolutely weird and drug-filled story with some smart comments on American culture. I wish there were more movies like it around.
