An Impressionist Icon and his son lust after a beautiful Provencal elle in an historic, lavish, sumptuously lighted estate. It is a lovely slice of a classic story that moves in a delightfully ponderous way.
The viewer is treated to scenes as vignettes in Renoir's view of the world; much like a thoughtful tour of a gallery exhibition.
