Review of Reno 911!: Miami (2007) by Florence D — 21 Sep 2008
I never really watched this show, but now I've contemplated getting all the DVD's. I was a huge fan of The State and I really love these guys. I find their comedy to be sarcastic, random, witty, and full of surprises.
And of course the plot is silly and the characters are goofy, but they kept surprising me and I was entertained throughout. Sure there are a handful of cheap body fluid jokes, but these guys really are mostly above that.
They are more sophisticated than the Adam Sandlers and Will Ferrells of the cinematic world. And needless to say, I loved all the cameos of the other half of The State guys. This is a light-hearted, smart in a bizarre way, silly comedy in the vein of Police Academy, but with so much more intelligence (on the filmmaker's part at least).
