Review of Renaissance (2006) by Hardy H — 15 Mar 2009
The cover and the imagery on the case caught my interest, and the film turns out to be interesting stylistically, and stylistically only. There are moments in the film (mostly urbanscape and certain dramatic angles that is not possible for the real world) where the imagery is interesting, or even borderline iconic, but more than 100 mins of continuous high-contrast moving shapes hurted my eyes. Also, there are probably too much of close up shots of characters with faces of simplified geometry. After a while they are more tiresome than cool.
Personally, the story/characters also didn't really do much for me either. I would say if the cover and the images on the case didn't interest you in anyway, dont bother...
