Review of Renaissance (1967) by Dan L — 30 Oct 2007
A visual orgasm. an absolute exercise in contrast, negative space, compositional brilliance, and conceptual wet dreaming.
I cannot say enough good things about the animation and the style in this movie... sereiously puts sin city to shame, which is saying a lot, because sin city was fucking awesome.
The one huge problem with visual feasts like this one, is that if you make the plot too complicated, nobody is going to pay attention to it, due to the distractingly beautiful visuals (think Scanner Darkly).
Nonetheless, this is definitely a must-see, and im gonna go so far as to say that it is also a must-own-on-dvd.
