Review of Rememory (2017) by Imthenoob — 06 Dec 2017
The original premise with a great performance by Dinklage. I really loved the ending too and felt it was so fitting. It's just the journey to the ending was kind of meh. There are too many attempts at laying a red herring and it just doesn't work. Especially when the moment the main character, Dinklage, confronts one of these suspects, They are immediately proven innocent. So what was the point in trying to make them a red herring?
Also, Wasn't a fan of the directing. I thought the first-person point of view used for the memories was kind of cheap looking. And I don't understand the art choice of making select memories shot from a first-person point of view while a majority of others were done in third-person. That didn't make sense to me.
All in all, I was on the verge of giving it a higher score but I think the directing and story flaws kind of knocked it back a bit. It is not a terrible movie as critics tried to make it out to be. It was enjoyable to watch but it should have been better.
