Review of Remember the Titans (2000) by Lee B — 12 Nov 2010
I've seen Glory Road, The Blind Side, and a bunch of other school sports kind of softy movies, and many are good (not many great sans Hoosiers and...some other 1 or 2). This one for some reason didn't work. It's bland. I think they were trying to have the social race relations be the real focus, but the dynamic of the football team seemed to work better as a misfit-underdog kind of story. So the social topics seem forced.
However, when it comes to the coaches' relationships, those are good scenes. So this movie gets lost in the middle and I don't think it was able to recover. Skip it, there are better.
