Review of Remember the Titans (2000) by Matt F — 27 May 2011
While almost criminally predictable and obvious at times, this movie deserves a mild recommendation on the strength of the two lead performances by Denzel Washington and Will Patton, playing two coaches on a football team struggling with the new integration laws in schools during the late 1960s and early 1970s.
They're both so absorbing that, for spells, it excuses the movie's shameless overdose of social commentary.
