Review of Remember the Titans (2000) by Kylie T — 30 Mar 2014

Remember the Titans will leave you without feeling disappointment. The movie is about a newly integrated high school that must learn to cope with the struggles of school as well as playing football with such high tensions.

A black head coach takes a white man's position which causes controversy. The team, now integrated, must learn how to play together on the field and look after each other off the field. In order to be successful they have to put aside the differences of their skin tone.

It gives you a slight visual into what is was like back then in regards to newly integrated schools. You can see the struggles the students faced and the director uses a football team to metaphorically show the struggle within the school and how it is possible to become a family and get along no matter what the color of your skin is.

While watching the movie you will see humor, happiness, sadness, camaraderie, internal and external struggle, compromise, and love. If you want to see a movie that will tap in all sorts of different emotions than this is one for you.

In my opinion this is one of the greatest movies ever made, with a mixture of serious issues with some light heartedness this is a classic that the whole family can see. Whatever your age, you can definitely take something away from seeing Remember the Titans.
