Review of Religulous (2008) by Tony U — 21 Apr 2010
I am a Christian and a Pastor and while many will be offended by this movie. I wasnt offended, many of the points that Bill brings up about religion are true and many other things he ask are questions I asked before accepting Christ as my savior.
Bill does not hide behind being non partial. He has a agenda he thinks religion is to keep people in their place and is a not based on fact or science. I was impressed by the kindness of the Christians to him at the truck stop and the Jesus land he went to.
I think that as a man of faith it is good for me to ask tough questions. I think this movie had its funny moments like when he interviews the gay Islamic activist and he says "talk about a fringe group" Bill does not attack just Christianity in this his whole theme is that religion is a threat to man because of how it can be violent.
Instead of hating Bill or calling him the tool of the devil like one of my friends said. I pray that the Lord works on his heart and that he would come to see that Christianity is about grace and salvation.
