Review of Religulous (2008) by Andrew D — 19 Dec 2010
American comedian Bill Maher travels the world asking the questions that a true sceptic of religions would, in an attempt to get a true idea about religion and what it means.
As with any documentary on religion, you get the fair share of lunatics...from a Christian amusement centre owner who believes people lived at the same time as the dinosaurs (due to creationism), to a Rabbi who denies the holocaust.
There are some smart interviewees though, including a theme park Jesus who compares the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost to ice, water, and steam in being different forms of the same thing. However the only people who will watch this movie will be people who are sceptics about religion anyway, so is unlikely to make anybody question their beliefs.
