Review of Religulous (2008) by Keith C — 24 Aug 2011
Sometimes entertaining, but Bill Maher's seeming inability to let anybody speak besides him makes for one of the most frustratingly close-minded documentaries I've seen in a while, and it starts and ends with some extreme claims that the rest of the movie does nothing to prove.
I'm all for a movie that dares to offend, but this one does so in a thoughtless way. If it had different ambitions I might be able to give it some credit for offering a few chuckles, but the ending takes away any enjoyment I could've had coming out of it by making it a fear-mongering mess.
