Pure Maher - a lackluster attempt at confronting/discussing an issue, while feigning to be a comedian when it behooves him to do so. When actually confronted himself (which is rare when you get to select your own targets), he tends to clam up or beat the same, tired drum rather than deal directly with a statement and/or issue.
The only person missing from his list of subjects was Christine O'Donnell. Perfect for his fans or anyone already sympathetic to his cause, but droll or frustrating to anyone else.
