Review of Religulous (2008) by Michael L — 01 Jan 2012
Some interesting and funny moments and even the occasional thought-provoking moment, but it's certainly full of flaws. It's a bit disjointed at times and lacks focus a bit. I felt there was also too much of Maher talking to the camera which made it more of a personal odyssey, which I think made it lose a bit of its power.
Still, part of what makes it work is Maher's wit and naturally likeable persona, even where he's fairly seriously provoking some religious fundamentalist he manages to just get to the borderline without quite crossing it.
