Review of Religulous (2008) by Dr. F P — 07 Apr 2014
Interesting points, Bill Maher was a LITTLE too smug for my liking - at first it was funny but it got to be quite rude towards the end but I think he just had enough of these people who are quite frankly shocking, not only for the lack of intelligence about the things they preach, but the fact that some of them exploit their followers for money and such things.
Firstly i've always been hacked off how most people don't follow even two thirds of their holy books, and the excuses they make? Well it's right here. It's not news, but it makes me sick.
Anyway, apart from that I found this pretty hilarious, Maher has good timing as far as comedy goes (well, you'd expect that, right!?). I also learned a whole bunch of stuff, though i've yet to investigate it for myself, because this could as far as I can tell be a whole heap of anti-religion bullshit as much as i've had pro-religion bullshit shoved in my face.
I agreed whole heartedly with Maher's closing statement which made me forgive his overly self satisfied tone for the latter half of the film. These organisations are ruining the world, I can't think why anybody religious could watch this and not start asking questions, to me it all makes sense.
