Review of Religulous (2008) by Bill C — 13 Sep 2010
Not a fan of Bill Maher, but the parts of the movie where he reflects on his own religious upbringing are very enjoyable. the majority of the movie is filled with uncomfortable interviews where Bill pushes people down slippery-slope type discussion until there about ready to attack him and then he uses his charm to work his way out of it.
In the end I was expecting Michael Moore to be somewhere in the credits. Maher poses that humanity need to cast aside religious beliefs if it is going to survive, but frames the story in his fraternity belly-laugh style.
In the end its not very convincing or that extremely funny, but I do give him credit for exposing his own cultural lens before going off on others.
