Review of Reign Over Me (2007) by Peter H — 16 May 2011
I thought this movie was a powerful reminder of many things, not the least of which is the power of friendship. The performances by everyone involved were fantastic, even Sandler, who wouldn't have been my choice for this role.
His Dylan-esque hair style didn't work at all for me, but I understood the choice in the context of his character's dementia. I rarely rate movies this high, but I thought it was very well done in the writing, acting, direction and production.
Bottom line: If you're in the mood to be moved and involved, go for it, if you're looking for comedy, this is the wrong movie for that.
