Review of Reign Over Me (2007) by Ki R — 08 Sep 2011
Reign Over Me featured a team of performers that I never pictured performing together before. Don Cheadle and Adam Sandler proved to be a duo with surprisingly good chemistry. I guess that the unexpected nature of this combination was a large part of what made it so good.
Adam Sandler really stepped up and proved that he has some serious acting skill in his role as the psychologically disturbed Charlie. Although I really liked the performances in the movie, the plot itself just wasn`t high-stakes enough for me.
It was really sappy and revolved purely around human emotion, which isn`t necessarily a bad thing but it just isn`t my cup of tea. Still, this film did have some great scenes and lines, so it was passable.
