Good film. Obviously with the age, the effects are dated, but not so bad that it's unwatchable. The acting of the McConaughy, Butler and Bale was fantastic, but most of the other actors were below the standard you would expect from a film like this.
Good plot concept, but the script needed work; the dialogue was poor and the characters were clichà (C)d and one dimensional. This said, what really makes this film stand out is how interesting its portrayal of a post-apocalyptic world is and how well it was managed.
It made a refreshing change from the usual 'few survivors in a city' that we regularly see in films set in a post-apocalyptic world. All in all, an entertaining film, but nothing too special. Worth watching, just don't expect too much.
