Review of Reign of Fire (2002) by Harrison F — 16 May 2009

Back when I first watched this one, I loved the idea of a dragon film that wasn't set in medieval times. It's a very nice change from many of the other dragon films out there, with a good cast and cracking visuals.

The dragons themselves are very well done, and among the scariest around! But despite all it's good points, Reign of Fire suffers from one serious drawback: it may be about humans fighting back against dragons to reclaim the world, but there's almost never more than one dragon on screen at a time! As a result, the story drags on for quite a bit, and isn't exciting enough.

Those expecting all out battles on the same magnitude as Aliens will be let down by this one.
