Review of Reign of Fire (2002) by Ethan H — 01 Sep 2010
Story: The story is basically a cross between Dragonslayer and The Hurt Locker. It takes place in post apocalyptic London where dragons have taken over our world and multiplied at an exponential rate and wiped out some of the human race. Its up to Quinn and the rest of the survivors to wipe out the dragons by killing the only male dragon in existence so the females can't reproduce.
Characters: I thought the characters in this movie were too one-dimensional. That's probably the film's major problem.
Visual Effects/Design: Like Dragonslayer, the visual effects mostly had to do with fire, but there are some explosions as well. also, the dragons look awesome and scary.
Overall: Reign of Fire is a decent dragon movie, but I wouldn't reccomend it to everyone. It's one of those love or hate kind of films and It's also one of Christian Bale's better films.
