Review of Reign of Fire (2002) by Mike B — 27 Apr 2011
Add Darth Vader to the list of awesome roles Christian Bale has portrayed on screen. He and and Gerard "King Leonidas" Butler act out the climactic confrontation between father and son at the end of The Empire Strikes Back for those born after a holocaust brought about by DRAGONS.
The outrageous premise of this flick is topped only by Matthew McConaughey's over-the-top American bad-ass who brings his fleet of helicopter jumping dragon-slayers and muddy know-how to save the English once again.
I absolutely LOVE this character. McConaughey is literally the only man on the planet who can upstage Christian Bale. And for that spectacle alone this movie is strongly recommended. Beside that you have helicopters vs.
dragons... and Izabella Scorupco. What more could one want in a flick?
