Review of Reflections in a Golden Eye (1967) by Jeff R — 24 Mar 2008
An early exposé of the human psyche when faced with taboo subjects literally thrust in their face. I think people forget the time frame here, 1967 and still as solvent for as many people today as the day it was made.
Huston's slow build-up of sexual tension and frustration adds infinitely to the surprise ending. Way ahead of its time!
