Underrated.. Nominated for all the major Oscars in 81, Beatty won Best Director. A tough project and one that comes through with total believeability and Passion, both in it's politics and its love story.
Blisterring performances make its extreme running time romp past It also uses actual rememerances of people who knew John Reed and Louise Bryant. Only Streisand, Beatty, Costner,Gibson,Eastwood and Redford have attained this level of Film making.
