Review of Reds (1981) by Shane C — 17 Jul 2011
A great human drama. While I have absolutely NO sympathy whatsoever with Bolshevism, this is a great movie. You can sympathize with where the people were coming from, considering that they didn't know the future outcome of their philosophy.
Whatever you may think of it, I most resonated with the character of Eugene O'Neill, portrayed by Jack Nicholson in the movie. So much for "parlor Socialism." "How did that work for you?" is a great question for the Bolsheviks.
They were just one more bureaucracy. Who needs that.
