Review of Reds (1981) by Mike M — 03 May 2009
This film has not held up particularly well over the years. The story is overwrought, overly long and tended to gloss over the historical events I was most interested in. Jack Nicholson is great as the playwright, Eugene O'Neill, and Beatty plays zeal well.
However, I don't know that Diane Keaton was the best choice for the role, even though I am usually a big fan. A good movie, but not a great movie... Plus, it's on Blu-Ray and still 2 discs? I smell a cash-in.
