This movie impressed me so much. It's some of the best acting I've seen, period, the score and cinematography are haunting, and it captures the heart of Cincinatti, one of the most fascinating, and under explored cities in the world, a place where race and class differences are never far from the surface of life.

Many see the Cassavettes influence, and some have derided the film for it, but unlike many movies that rip off, Harris is clearly paying homage to him. Evan Louison is perhaps the films great highlight, as is Miranda Rhyne's remarkable cinematography.

Redlegs is not a simple film with a simple, didactic message. It bravely broaches the subject of race and doesn't distill anything for the audience. I highly recommend it.
