Review of Redbelt (2008) by Shane R — 09 Sep 2008
Not a bad movie, but if you're a Mamet fan, this doesn't qualify as one of his better pictures. That said, it's still more worthwhile than most of the other rentals out there. Ejiofor and Mortimer are solid and the idea of an MMA-based story with Mamet style dialogue works, strangely enough.
Mantegna's wasted in the film. Check out the ten seconds Jennifer "I've done nothing since Dirty Dancing and my rhinoplasty" Grey lasts in the movie.
