Review of Redbelt (2008) by Seamus K — 09 Sep 2008
No movie that David Mamet makes ever turns out to be what I thought it would. This is probably why I enjoy his work so much. "Redbelt" is not a neat movie or some casual sit down with some popcorn on a Saturday movie. It leaves you with unanswered questions, which lesser minds tend to view as a weakness. In fact, I'm thinking of everyone I know who said they didn't like "Ronin" right now.
Chiwetel Ejiofor is a name everyone should start remembering and learning how to pronounce. He is an incredibly talented actor who has been up and coming for the past few years, and I don't think it will be long before we are seeing him in Oscar nominated roles.
