Review of Redbelt (2008) by Jim B — 21 Sep 2008
After watching this, it is very clear to me why they chose Chiwetel as the main character. His acting pretty much blows everyone out of the water. I just can't get over what a great actor he is. I've seen him in other things, but nothing was quite as impressing as his role in this.
So basically the whole story is centered around the basic idea of Jiu Jitsu, and that is when everything has you down to the point of your own destruction, you are able to reverse all effects upon your opponent.
That is what the entire movie is about. David Mamet does a fantastic job with the story and directing. Simply said, this is a masterpiece in my eyes. There are a few things that went unexplained, but other than that everything was near perfect.
