Review of Redbelt (2008) by Mike K — 09 Oct 2008
After Mamet does a heist film (Heist) and Mamet does an action film (Spartan) comes Mamet does a boxing film. Well, technically Jiu-jitsu but its clearly a genre piece. It attains interesting if never really gripping, partly due to its occasionally overly complex scripting.
That said the dialogue fires well and Ejiofor proves again he is a real film star waiting for his break out leading role.
