Review of Redbelt (2008) by Derek D — 19 Dec 2008
Fun Mamet-speak and good Jiu-jitsu fighting are pretty much all it takes for this film to be good, and it is good. The performances all around are great, but particularly Chiwetel Ejiofor as a character driven by honor and rules and communicating a lot with his face.
The only problem that I had here was that you have a great dialogue centered movie that essentially abandons the dialogue in its climax. The climax was still intense, but I missed the words and through that some of the characters were a bit left out to dry.
