Review of Redbelt (2008) by Anthony V — 03 Jun 2009
Mamet makes a martial arts film. The focus here isn't on the action, its about the philosophy of having honor in a world where most everyone else will do anything for the almighty dollar. The martial arts are authentic and believable.
The unbelievable cast gives some of their best performances, with Chiwetel Ejiofor proving once again what an underrated actor he is. Nice twists and turns, and the signature "Mamet Dialog", make this gripping and fun to watch.
A must see for Mamet fans.
