Review of Redbelt (2008) by Jack Z — 23 Aug 2009
I really loved this. Not familiar with director David Mamet, but I felt there a lot of great touches here. As a martial arts fan, I appreciated a story that wasn't just building to the next fight sequence.
He's just a humble guy who happens to get swept up in showbiz. Chiwetel Ejiofor seemed very authentic, and so did the fighting. This feels more in tone with like a Rocky or Karate Kid.
