Review of Redbelt (2008) by Justin S — 24 Sep 2009
Redbelt once again proves that David Mamet is a brilliant storyteller, but not a great movie maker. The story is taut and filed with nuances that demand your complete attention, lest you miss out on something.
But character development, outside of Chiwetel Ejiofor's Mike Terry, is kept to a bare minimum. The unfortunate result of this slight is an ending that doesn't pack the emotional punch that it should.
